Rocky Mountain Technical Assistance and Consulting Center
Since 1999, The Rocky Mountain Technical Assistance and Consulting Center (RMTACC) has
been in the business of providing needed assistance to entities working with or on behalf of
individuals with disabilities. The activities of RMTACC are provided primarily to those entities
which are part of the Public Rehabilitation Services Program administered through the U.S.
Department of Education, State governments, local not for profit agencies, as well as
universities and colleges.
Activities:
- Provide training to minority institutions of higher education in the area of program
planning, curriculum development, management, and leadership, grant writing, grant
management, and accreditation.
- Provide training to non-profit organizations working with individuals with disabilities
leading to more efficient and effective service delivery to clients and their families.
- Provide training to American Indian tribes and tribal colleges for improved outreach and
service delivery to individuals with disabilities, including orientation to the Americans
with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, academic program
development, grant management, program evaluation, and cultural diversity issues.
- Provide training to State Rehabilitation Agencies in the areas of cultural diversity,
leadership, and management, grant writing, job development, ADA compliance issues,
and organizational ethics.
- Provide individualized technical assistance to staff of preceding entities upon request to
increase the effectiveness of the agency and implement skills or activities outlined in
training sessions.
- Provide technical assistance and coordination services to governmental agencies, such
as the Rehabilitation Services Administration, to improve project activities of grantees
and to increase the effectiveness of grant programs administered by the agency.
