The Executive Director of RMTACC is Daniel W. Hopkins. He has a
proven and verifiable background in the areas of cultural diversity,
community development, and capacity building. Dan has had
considerable experience in program planning, group facilitation and
consultation with minority academic institutions, Indian tribes, and
community based organizations serving and representing individuals
from diverse populations. Dan has served as National Coordinator of
the Rehabilitation Capacity Building Program (RCBP) since March 1,
1996. He is quite familiar with the issues confronting capacity building
projects and has established good working relationships with all of the
RCBP grantees. Dan is also an Episcopal Priest, has a master's degree
and has done considerable work toward a second. He is currently
working toward a doctoral degree. Dan’s bio.
Ingrid Amidon will serve as the Associate Coordinator for the RMTACC
project. Ingrid has a strong and verifiable background in management
and works closely with the Executive Director, Dan Hopkins, to ensure
the quality and timeliness of RMTACC projects. Ingrid has extensive
computer skills including accounting software, desktop publishing as
well as general word processing. She also has a broad range of
experiences in office management, technical assistance, legal
research and event planning. Ingrid holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Psychology as well as a post-graduate Paralegal
Certification. She is responsible for product dissemination, product
development, and materials development. She is the lead associate in
the planning of training sessions and conferences throughout the
United States in addition to her recurrent duties of record keeping and
financial management. Ingrid’s bio.
Leon has worked for thirty-five years in the Public Rehabilitation
Program. Twenty-four of those years were spent as the Director of the
Region VI, RRCEP. In that position Leon gained the widespread
respect of rehabilitation professionals throughout the country. He has
developed significant relationships with many of the programs, which
comprise the State-Federal Rehabilitation Program. Working
alongside Dan Hopkins, he has provided technical assistance,
academic program development, grant writing training and facilitated
the relationships between VR agencies and minority entities. Leon has
provided training and TA to Historically Black Colleges and
Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions and American Indian Tribally
Controlled Colleges for the past nine years. Many of these institutions
have been funded by RSA. Since 1996, Leon and Dan have been
utilized by most of the other funded capacity building projects to
provide TA and training for Long Term Training and Special
Demonstration Project proposal development. Leon's bio.
